Events in 2012

OOPS!

The Jan 25 Daily Herald Suburban Parent article on astronomy was wonderful, but listed the incorrect date for the start of the 2012 viewing season at Henize Observatory.  The opening date is Mar 17, NOT Mar 26 as published.  Harper College is closed Mar 26 for Spring Break.

Once in Your Lifetime Event

June 5th, 2012 - Venus transit at Henize!  Next one is 2117.

The goal of Harper Astronomy is to share the wonder of the universe and the excitement of discovery.  By offering free, public viewing sessions at the Harper College Observatory, we bring the universe to you.  Not only can you observe objects near and far, our staff provides interpretation of what is seen.  These events are attended by young children, their parents, and grandparents.  For us, one of the most thrilling sounds is that of a small voice in the dark exclaiming "I see it!"

So drop on by, look through a telescope, and prepare to be awed.
